What to Expect at Your Child’s First Visit

After Dr. Hughes meets parent and child, a brief consultation and initial dental exam will be done.  Depending on the age of your child a dental cleaning, fluoride treatment will be given and x-rays taken if appropriate.

If further treatment is needed your options will be discussed and appointments scheduled.

Routine Appointments

Twice a year routine check-ups are recommended.  You will be asked to complete a short health history update upon arrival.  Routine appointments will typically last 40 minutes.  Extra time may be added if additional services, such as sealants, are needed.

If you prefer or need early morning or late afternoon appointments, please know that these are the most popular and requested times.  We encourage you to schedule your next visit before leaving the office.  If you choose not to schedule in advance, a reminder will be sent via e-mail or postcard two months prior to your six-month recall.

We make every effort to be on time for our patients and ask that you extend the same courtesy to our office and other patients.  If you arrive more than ten minutes late for an appointment we reserve the right to reschedule.

Our office is open Monday through Thursday.
